Is there a better way to spend time with friends rather than cooking together? I don’t think so! A few weeks ago, JF and I were invited by Hélène and Benoit to spend the weekend at their house in Eastman. When we first arrived, I was immediately charmed by the beauty of the site. They own a beautiful ecological home located on the edge of a lake. The scenery was breathtaking. In the light of the sunset, the scene brought out all the beauty of Quebec’s winter.
In the kitchen, everything was in place for cooking. Each of us had his own station for preparing the food. It was like being at a cooking class! Our friends Caroline and Marc-André were also with us, so we were able to made several recipes, such as raisin bread croutons with candied figs, Sicilian caponata, stuffed zucchinis and many more. We had a lot of fun cooking all together. I learned few new techniques and I now have some new recipes to make at home!
On Sunday morning, we all had breakfast together and by the end of the forenoon, it was time to go home. Before leaving Eastman, we stopped by a little bakery to pick up some homemade bread.
I would like to say a big thank you to Hélène and Benoit for having us, we had a really great time!

That looks like the best time and it’s absolutely beautiful up there!
